Atlas In-Stream Test Tags

Vast XML Tag

The VAST single URL ad tag is designed to accommodate multiple video player formats and tracking beacons from one tag. The requirement to use the VAST single tag is a video player that can parse through the VAST XML template to determine which video format and tracking options works best. This single URL gives a lot of flexibility and can reduce errors upon trafficking.

Atlas Generic Multi-Tags

Atlas In-Stream also supports separate ad tag URLs although they are not as ideal as the VAST standard. Our customers prefer that each of the below are used that your system supports. The"video-serving" and "impression-tracking" URLs are required as a minimum, and most sites are able to support the "completed play" tracking. A companion JPG should return for the size(s) that your system uses. If a necessary companion image size (728x90 for example) is required and the corresponding URL is returning a pixel rather than the proper JPG size, please notify the advertiser/company that sent these tags to you.

Here is more information about how the above Video Ad URLs work:

* Video Ad Serving: This URL returns back the actual video file. It can be manually edited in order to return different video formats (WindowsMedia, Flash, Real, QuickTime) and different bit rates (700kbps, 500, 300, 200) and different delivery methods (progressive download or streaming). This is edited by you, the publisher, setting/changing these parameters in this URL to match your system.
* Impression Tracking: This URL returns a 1x1 pixel and is used to track the "start" of the video per the IAB guidelines. It should be called at the closest opportunity when the viewer views the start of the ad (post file call and post buffering).
* Checkpoint (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) Tracking: These URLs will return a 1x1 pixel and are used to track their corresponding points of the video viewed. These are to be pasted into the publisher's ad-serving template. For example, the 50% tracking URL should be pinged at the middle of the video, and the 100% when the video has finished. If your system does not support 25% and 75% checkpoints, please disregard these.
* Click-Through: This URL will redirect the viewer to the advertiser's web site and will count an ad "click".
